What a better way to end the year than with a jazz record. We've explored many new directions this year- deeper dives into progressive rock, thrash metal, and even recording a studio album in front of a live audience- and while we've never technically made a straight-out "jazz" record, we have been so heavily influenced by the genre since our founding that this seems like more of a comfort album than anything else we've made this year. Our fifth album in twelve months, The Free Book pays homage to the legends that inspired us to play- Chick Corea, Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Herbie Hancock, and Freddie Hubbard. And while it may sound insane to be thinking about our next release, I'd be lying if I said an all-original jazz record wasn't on the horizon. Thanks for sticking with Free Rock in 2025, we'll see you next year.
